MAME 怎么安装：先核对 Windows 与 CPU 架构

1. 在官方当前版本页选择 0.289 Windows 二进制包。x64 附件为 mame0289b_x64.exe，需要 Windows 10 或以后版本及具备 x86-64-v2 功能的 CPU；Arm64 附件为 mame0289b_arm64.exe，需要 Windows 10 或以后版本及 Armv8.2-A CPU。CPU 架构不能仅凭系统名字判断。
2. 将官方自解压包提取到独立目录，保留内部子目录。列表中的 mame0289s.exe 是源码包，mame0289lx.zip 是驱动信息 XML，均不能代替运行程序。更新时保留旧目录与自定义配置，先在新目录检查基本启动。
3. 启动解压后的 MAME 主程序进入系统选择界面。先确认菜单可以正常显示，再根据官方配置文档指定软件资料路径，避免把“界面打不开”和“系统资料不完整”混为同一个故障。
4. 使用已授权、与目标系统要求匹配的数据做一次小范围检查，记录选定系统、启动错误与输入映射。完成一次可重复的启动之后，再迁移其他设置。

MAME 手柄与键盘设置：界面控制和系统输入不同

官方文档说明，MAME 菜单可以使用键盘、手柄或指点设备，但初始配置仍需要键盘。一般菜单通过方向键移动、Enter 选择、Esc 返回；运行模拟系统时 Tab 用于显示或隐藏菜单。带键盘输入的被模拟系统另有 UI 控制切换规则，按键没有打开菜单时应先检查是否由模拟系统接收输入。

MAME 常见问题 FAQ：缺少文件、旧资料与运行速度

提示缺少 ROM，明明已经放了 ZIP 怎么办？ 按错误中列出的文件名和查找位置核对依赖。某些 clone 需要 parent，某些系统还依赖 BIOS 或 device set；只看到一个游戏 ZIP 不足以说明资料完整。以当前版本的需求为准，避免按猜测随意改名。

CHD 还需要再压缩吗？ 官方文档说明 CHD 用于磁盘等大容量介质，本身已压缩，不应再装进 ZIP 或 7z。部分系统需要 ROM 与 CHD 同时存在；delta CHD 还依赖对应的非 delta parent CHD。

旧版本可用的资料，升级后为什么报错？ 随硬件研究推进，ROM 定义可能修正。官方文档指出不同系统的变化幅度不同，旧资料集不能保证与新版本完全对应。保留旧配置与原文件，读取当前错误后再决定应更新哪一项。

满足最低硬件要求就能全速运行吗？ 不能据此保证。官方 CPU 与系统要求决定当前二进制包的运行前提；不同模拟硬件的计算负担差异很大。检查具体系统状态与配置，再判断主机性能是否足够。

Before downloading MAME: separate emulated hardware from software data

MAME is a multipurpose emulation framework. Its name originated with arcade machines, while work absorbed from MESS expanded the scope to vintage computers, consoles, calculators and other hardware. The project preserves software history by implementing hardware behavior. A listed system does not establish that every feature or every software title is fully emulated. Identify the target system and its status before configuring it.

This page links official Windows program assets without commercial game collections, BIOS files or disk images. Once you have software data you are entitled to use, check its dependencies and required MAME version. The official Windows binary supports both its built-in graphical interface and command-line operation; an external frontend provides another layer of launch management.

How to install MAME: check Windows and CPU architecture first

1. Choose a 0.289 Windows binary from the official current release page. mame0289b_x64.exe requires Windows 10 or later and x86-64-v2 CPU functionality. mame0289b_arm64.exe requires Windows 10 or later and Armv8.2-A functionality. An operating-system name alone does not identify the CPU architecture.
2. Extract the official self-extracting package into a separate directory, preserving its subdirectories. mame0289s.exe contains source code; mame0289lx.zip contains driver XML information. Neither replaces the executable binary package. Keep the previous installation and custom settings when upgrading.
3. Start the extracted MAME application and check the system selection menu first. Then configure software-data locations using the official documentation. Failure to display the application and incomplete data for an emulated system are separate problems.
4. Check one system using authorized data that matches its requirements. Record the selected system, any error and the input mappings before migrating additional settings.

MAME keyboard and controller mappings: menu controls and system inputs differ

The documentation states that menus support a keyboard, game controller or pointing device, but initial configuration still requires a keyboard. Arrow keys normally navigate, Enter selects and Escape goes back. Tab shows or hides the menu while an emulated system is running. Systems with emulated keyboard input have additional UI-control toggling behavior; check which layer receives a key before assuming that the menu command failed.

General Settings offers Input Assignments for defaults; Input Settings while running a system provides current-system assignments. Record defaults first and distinguish successful menu navigation from an assigned in-system action. Analog controls, relative-motion devices and digital buttons behave differently, so adjust sensitivity, inversion or centering around the actual device one setting at a time.

MAME 0.289 release notes: input modules, debugger scaling and emulation

MAME 0.289 was released on July 31, 2026. Official Windows binaries now include SDL sound-output and joystick-input modules. The sdljoy module supports controllers with up to 128 buttons. The Win32 debugger handles dynamic UI scaling changes. Outputs were overhauled, and the announcement warns that external-program configurations and some artwork files may need updating.

The announcement describes progress for NS32000 systems and coprocessor cards, alongside changes involving Xerox 820, Big Board and some Toshiba CP/M systems. MAME FAQ: missing files, older data and performance

Why are ROM files missing when a ZIP is present? Follow the exact filenames and search locations in the error. A clone may require a parent, and some systems also depend on BIOS or device sets. One game ZIP does not establish completeness. Check the current version's requirements rather than guessing filenames.

Should CHD files be compressed again? The documentation says that CHD represents mass-storage media and is already compressed, so it should not be placed inside ZIP or 7z archives. Some systems need both ROM data and CHDs. A delta CHD also requires its corresponding non-delta parent CHD.

Why does previously usable data fail after an upgrade? ROM definitions change as hardware research corrects earlier information. Changes vary between systems, so an older collection cannot be assumed to match a newer version. Preserve files and settings and read the current error before choosing what to update.

Do minimum requirements guarantee full speed? No. They establish prerequisites for the current binary. Emulated hardware differs greatly in computational cost. Check the particular system's status and configuration before judging the host's performance.

For a MAME download, select the correct Windows architecture, then check program setup, data dependencies and input mappings in separate steps. Keeping version and configuration records makes emulation troubleshooting reproducible.
